Reflection: Free Informational Poster
My initial inspiration was discovered by the picture of Andrew Scott I found. I knew immediately I wanted to do a movie that related to the snake and apple from the story of Adam and Eve. My goal for the design was to take a mix of modern, almost sci-fi, vibe and mix it with a forest-y, garden aesthetic. I had to find various transparent images of leafy plants and even an apple to put into Andrew’s hand. I wanted whoever looked at the poster to know the inspiration of the movie but show that it is placed in a modern time or the future. I believe the poster turned out just how I wanted and then some. The title font and Andrew’s formal attire give a nice modern/futuristic image and the white and brighter lighting creates a contrast to the green foliage of the background. |

The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation requested students to design a poster promoting their scholarship programs. I took a look at the posters from previous years for design elements that the foundation seemed to favor. Once I found out that I went to other poster designs for ideas. Eventually I decided on a simple design that would compliment the heavy text instead of distract from it. I used and image of a bunch of graduates throwing their caps silhouetted by the sunset. I chose this image in particular because I believe it will get the message of the poster across. |
