Halloween Poster
We were tasked with creating a fall event poster. For my poster I decided on a Halloween Party poster. I started but researching Halloween images, posters, and color schemes. Once I was finished with finding inspiration for my project, I started sketching. After many ideas, I decided on a cauldron with green slime and smoke coming out of the top, as for the color scheme I went with two different shades of green and two different shades of grey. I started the project by laying out the basic shapes and colors, once that was finished, I started to add shading and highlights to the drawing. I had a difficult time finding a font to use in Illustrator, so instead I researched some headlines and traced the one I liked. After I finished the headline, I moved onto the detail text. There was some difficultly with the size and color choice but after asking for feedback from my peers and teacher I decided on white for the color and for the size point 63. Once that was fished, my poster was completed.

PGSF Poster Contest
We were tasked to create a poster of the PGSF Poster Design Competition, which is a graphic design scholarship program. I stared off by researching the previous posters that won the competition and by also researching other scholarship posters. After I was done, I started to sketch ideas; I decided on a silhouette of a girl thinking or “dreaming” about getting a degree. I had some trouble with picking a headline, but ended up with, “Stop Dreaming Start Doing.” Once I decided on a headline, I started to research color palettes. I came across one with bright purples and teals, but they were to bright, so I muted them in the process, while keeping the bright colors for the headline. After I decided on a color scheme, I started drawing the silhouette and the brain. Looking up the previous posters for a reference, I started to type up the requirements for the scholarship. Once everything was typed, I made some adjustments of the placements of the text and my design was completed.
